  • Our Japanese patent (JPH0628637B2) filed in 1984 describes a digital sphygmomanometer using oscillometric principles. Redefining blood pressure measurement using using a pressure sensor, RC oscillating circuit, and digital data processing to determine blood pressure.
Why It Matters
This patent helped transition blood pressure monitoring from manual, clinic-only procedures to automated, home-based solutions, making it easier for patients to manage hypertension independently.

I was disappointed not to have a memory to double click on to see details.
My old one did and it was so useful to be able to copy details to my GP for monthly average results .
Maybe technically this one is so far advanced but the cuff is not it is too slippy (like nylon)and again is not like the old one. The rectangular plastic adjuster allows it to slip and it’s difficult to get the right grip on my upper arm.
Not helpful for self use which medics expect from patients .
Sales advertising . It would also be helpful for the English speaking market to have the cuff measurements in imperial as well as metric (inches).
